The duvets offered at
Luxury Duvet are manufactured from a sumptuous Canadian white down selected and puffed up voluptuously in a soft damask cotton with baffled box. All these duvets are light as silk to give maximum comfort to the users.
All the duvets we provide are indeed made of an
exceptional down quality since it is taken from mature animals (two to three year old). This specific element takes all its importance when considering the quality of the duvet. Indeed, the duvets manufactured from European or Chinese duck or goose down do not have this down quality.
Why is Canadian down the best down in the world?
The Chinese duvet
The Chinese down, that will be used to manufacture the duvets, is taken from ducks (there are only few geese in China) bred in order to be eaten (Peking duck). This Chinese down is thus taken from young animals, which have not had enough time to produce a quality down. In addition, the filaments that constitute the Chinese down are less thick than those of goose down (that harms the quality of these duvets). A duvet made of Chinese duck down will have much less loft power, the loft power being the capacity of the duvet to be puffed, i.e. to compress the air and to diffuse warmth. Thus the Chinese duvets are not of such a good quality.
The European duvet
The quality of the European duvet is better than the Chinese duvet. However, most of the duvets designed in Europe, and particularly in France, are also made of down taken from young animals. In southern France, down used to manufacture duvets is taken from animals (geese and ducks) which were force-fed, in order to produce “foie gras”. These birds live in buildings, where temperature never goes under 15°C, furthermore, these force-fed birds are far from being very healthy. These breeding conditions prevent the down of the duvet-to-be from giving all its qualities.
The quality of the duvets offered at Luxury Duvet
Two criteria are sufficient to ensure an

-The whole duvet range offered at Luxury Duvet is made of
white Canadian down taken from animals bred in the
open air at temperatures close to -50°C in winter!
-The geese from which the down is taken are at least three years old, thus
mature birds will ensure the down quality of your duvet.
The various duvet range offered in Canada enables you to choose between more or less light duvets and more or less warm ones; as you understood, the more down in the duvet, the lighter and the warmer.
